Book: Agents Unknown - True Stories of Life as a Special Agent in the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) highlights the unconventional responsibilities of the U.S. State Department's relatively unknown Federal Law Enforcement Arm through the eyes of former DSS Special Agent Cody Perron. The book covers his time as a new agent in the Houston Field Office and his subsequent tours at U.S. diplomatic facilities in Baghdad, Iraq, Ho Chi MInh City, Vietnam, & Erbil, Iraq. While Agents Unknown highlights stories from all of Cody's assignments, the catalyst for the book centers around Cody's one-year tour in Erbil, the northern Iraqi town and capital of the Kurdistan Region. In this assignment the DSS team faced an ISIS terrorist group that surrounded the city within 8-miles,  with the U.S. consulate as their top target. In this assignment Cody was also deeply involved in the investigation and attempted recovery of the first female American ISIS hostage; Kayla Mueller. Cody's Erbil tour ended after leading the ground team to defend the U.S. consulate when an ISIS VBIED struck the U.S. Consulate gate. Agents Unknown is available in paperback, digital, and audio wherever you get your books.
